Samsung Develops Multi-standard Mobile TV Chip

Samsung recently announced that it has developed a multi-standard mobile TV chipset based on 65nm process technology. This new chipset supports multiple existing mobile TV standards, including DVB-H/T (Digital Video Broadcasting - Handheld/Terrestrial), DAB-IP (Digital Audio Broadcast - Internet Protocol), ISDB-T (Terrestrial Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting), and T-DMB (Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting). Samsung's new chipset, which can be shipped as two standalone ICs or as a SiP (System-in-chip Package), is scheduled to enter volume production in the fourth quarter of 2007, initially targeting the markets in Europe and Asia.
